Risika - Island Krk

Risika, ext. čekavski Resika, a small village on the island, in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, belongs to the municipality Vrbnik.

In the bay of St marks are still based Roman fortifications and tombs from the same time and under the sea are the remains of the villa rustica. On the same site is found and a signet with the image of a warrior and the inscription SIMIG, which dates from the Great Migration, according to some opinions it is a prince of a Gothic tribes.

Croats are firstly settled eastern part of the island and formed castles Omišalj Dobrinj, Krk and Baska. Around these castles there are small villages which they belonged. Since ancient times Risika belonged to the municipality of Vrbnik and has remained so to this day.

Near Risika are the ruins of the castle that is called Gradec.
