Postira, 10 km from the ferry port in Supetar, is an ideal destination for all those who wish to enjoy the rich monumental heritage and natural beauties of the island of Brač, where there are a number of pebble and rocky beaches surrounded with pine forests. The population is oriented towards the soil and the sea, so local homemade products, such as olive oil, wine and goat’s cheese, are included in the tourist gastronomic offer, and fish processing is the principal activity of the town’s population.
Several great Croatian writers and artists were born in Postire (Vladimir Nazor, Ivan Ivanišević, etc.). Several archaeological sites and a parish church are of interest for enthusiasts of cultural heritage, while the traditional cultural-entertainment event Postirsko lito (the Postira Summer) offers an authentic experience of folk fiestas.
