Island Ugljan lies exactly "opposite" of the city of Zadar. The island has about 1,000 inhabitants living mainly from agriculture, fisheries and tourism. It is at the regional road passing along the island. Smaller yachts may dock along the inner side; anchorage for larger boats south of the harbor. Swimmers will be delighted by beautiful sandy beaches, some of which are the best ones in the bay Ćinta, Mostir and Harbor in Muline.
Island Ugljan has 7 settlements: Ugljan, Lukoran, Sutomiscica, Poljana, Preko, Kali and Kukljica.
Ugljan is the largest urban settlement on the island, and lies with its nine villages in the northwestern part of the island.
